Every day the JCCC staff is called upon to assist the people in the most vulnerable and heartwrenching situations, including the end-of-life issues. The recent training gave the JCCC staff the tools needed to better assist the clients who are dealing with the loss of a loved one.

One of the most inspiring “events by the JCC of Canarsie is its Annual Luncheon for Holocaust Survivors. This year's event became a poignant tribute to the strengths and fortitude of these remarkable individuals.

There are no brick and mortar bridges in Canarsie, a Brooklyn neighborhood of almost a hundred thousand residents. Yet, it can be justly proud of the many bridges that span cultures, ages and, most importantly, hearts the Canarsie Bridges Festival that is.

Whether as a young girl in Leningrad, or as a director of the JCC of Canarsie Food Pantry in Brooklyn, Olga Podlubnaya is here to feed those in need.
