The Jewish Community Council of Canarsie (JCCC) is known for pouring its heart out to needy residents all year round. During this particularly difficult time- after Superstorm Sandy left thousands in the community without basic supplies- the JCCC worked even harder to see that Canarsiens got the help they needed.

Every day the JCCC staff is called upon to assist the people in the most vulnerable and heartwrenching situations, including the end-of-life issues. The recent training gave the JCCC staff the tools needed to better assist the clients who are dealing with the loss of a loved one.

One of the most inspiring “events by the JCC of Canarsie is its Annual Luncheon for Holocaust Survivors. This year's event became a poignant tribute to the strengths and fortitude of these remarkable individuals.

There are no brick and mortar bridges in Canarsie, a Brooklyn neighborhood of almost a hundred thousand residents. Yet, it can be justly proud of the many bridges that span cultures, ages and, most importantly, hearts the Canarsie Bridges Festival that is.

Whether as a young girl in Leningrad, or as a director of the JCC of Canarsie Food Pantry in Brooklyn, Olga Podlubnaya is here to feed those in need.

Over two decades of service to the Southern Brooklyn community.

A proud affiliate of JCRC-NY, UJA-Federation of New York, Met Council, Brooklyn Community Foundation, NYS Department of State and The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
